Betsy Duffey grew up with a deep love of reading and writing, inspired early on by her mother, Betsy Byars. She began her own writing career in 1990 and has since published more than twenty children’s books, including several popular series. Her work has been recognized as Junior Library Guild selections, Crown Award nominees, and has received state award nominations in more than twenty states.

Betsy is also the author of the More devotional series, created to help readers experience more of God’s presence in everyday life. Each book offers a gentle rhythm of Scripture, reflection, and prayer, inviting readers to slow down, listen for God’s voice, and grow in peace, hope, and trust.

Her devotionals were born out of personal relationships and real-life needs. More Peace was written for a friend undergoing chemotherapy, and More Hope for a young woman facing infertility. What began as simple meditations shared with friends has grown into a series that continues to encourage and uplift readers in a variety of seasons.

In addition to her writing, Betsy has worked as a counselor and now serves as a spiritual director, walking alongside others as they seek a deeper relationship with God.

Betsy and her husband, Bill, split their time between Atlanta and the mountains of North Georgia. When she’s not writing, you’ll likely find her walking in the woods, spending time with her grandchildren, or relaxing on the porch with a good book.
